Getting started

Connect SeoGrep to your AI client and run your first analysis.

Getting started takes three steps: get your personal MCP URL, add it to your AI client, and ask for an analysis in plain language.

  1. Get your MCP URL. From your SeoGrep dashboard, copy your personal MCP endpoint. In these docs it appears as YOUR_MCP_URL.
  2. Add it to your client. Paste YOUR_MCP_URL into the MCP server settings of the client you already use — Claude Desktop, claude.ai, Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf.
  3. Ask in plain language. Try "Crawl my site and find quick wins." Credits pay for the analysis work; your AI subscription stays your own.

Two ways to connect

  • Your personal URL (default). Paste YOUR_MCP_URL — the whole URL, including your key — into your client's MCP server settings. This works in every client and is what the dashboard gives you.
  • Fixed URL plus a header. Point the client at https://mcp.seogrep.com/mcp and send your key in an x-api-key header (Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY also works). Some directories and proxies only support this form, and it keeps your key out of URLs, which get written to logs and browser history.

Both accept the same key and expose the same tools — use whichever your client supports.

One-time URL: your MCP URL is shown only once, right when a key is created or rotated — the dashboard shows just a masked prefix after that. Save it somewhere safe. If you lose it, rotate your key from the Connection page to get a fresh URL (the old one stops working immediately).

Beta note: SeoGrep is in beta. Setup details and the exact tool list may still change as the service evolves.
