FAQ
Quick answers about MCP, clients, GSC, credits, data, and signing up.
Short answers to the questions that come up most before and during setup.
Beta note: Answers below reflect the current beta.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI clients call tools on a remote server. SeoGrep is an MCP server — your client calls its tools directly, inside your own chat.
Which clients work?
Claude Desktop, claude.ai, Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf. See Getting started for setup steps per client.
Do I need Google Search Console?
No. Your first crawl and audit run without it. Connecting GSC unlocks performance-based tools like decay analysis — see GSC connection.
What do credits cost?
See /pricing for the current credit cost of each run.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your site data is never used to train AI models — see Security.
Do I need an invite?
No. Sign up on the homepage and your account is ready as soon as you confirm your email address. You start with 200 free credits and no card is required.
How do I delete my data?
Email support@seogrep.com and ask for a deletion — we'll remove it. One exception: the credit ledger is append-only, so the entries showing what you bought and what you spent are kept as accounting records. See Data retention.
