GSC connection

Connecting Google Search Console is optional — what it unlocks and how it stays scoped.

Google Search Console (GSC) connection is optional. Your first crawl and audit work fully without it — GSC only unlocks the tools that need real search performance data, like decay analysis and the monthly routine.

Beta note: The OAuth screen and scopes below match the current beta plan and may be refined before launch.

What it unlocks

  • pull_gsc_data — raw clicks, impressions, and position data.
  • analyze_content_decay — needs GSC history to compare against.
  • Fuller results from find_quick_wins and whats_next.

Connecting

Ask "Connect Search Console for example.com" and SeoGrep runs connect_gsc, which hands you a Google OAuth link. SeoGrep requests read-only Search Console access — it never requests write access to your property.

Disconnecting

Revoke access any time from your Google Account's third-party access settings; SeoGrep stops pulling new data as soon as the token is invalid.
